Gong xi fa cai! Happy new year, everyone! This lunar year is the year of the Fire Monkey. The Mt Song demo team has been keeping busy and ringing in the New Year with lion dances all over Tampa bay. We joined USF Confucius Institute and other Chinese cultural performers on New Year’s Day, February 8th for the annual New Year’s Festival at USF Tampa. The Mt Song lions and also visited students at various k-12 schools in Pinellas and Hillsborough County that participate in Chinese language and cultural programs. The lion dancers and kung fu performers had a great time with all the students, teachers and parents at these celebrations, and were so impressed by the performances of the students who showed off their Chinese language skills on stage.
